I survived 4 C-sec girl births in 5 years & Jack survived 4 teenagers & simultaneously a menopausal wife within a 4 year timeframe. We conferred sainthood on him - St Jack the Noble & Brave.
Too many people vanish from their online homes without a trace and those who cared about them are often left to wonder what happened. So thank you for the lovely good-bye.
I admire your plans and hopes and work for the future. oh, the baby ... sweet joy. Bless you on your journey forward, Abigail.
Your public writing has been a gift, and though we will miss hearing from you, your example is a wise one. Thanks for showing us the goodness of faithfully abiding our limits! Can't wait for all God has ahead: baby, seminary, continued ministry!
You are amazing and with #3 you are now following in my footsteps…just a bit. I’ve been devouring Kate Bowler’s “Have A Beautiful Terrible Day,” and wonder if you’ve read it? She’s an author I resonate with and today’s reading seemed to be for you too! I do recall in my mommy years the feeling that everyone was claiming a piece of me and there was nothing left over. I didn’t dare get tired, much less sick! But Im sure that those expectations were my self-imposed perfectionist attitudes that I was never “enough.” Thankfully you are taking a giant leap in the right direction, because the tyranny of the urgent can lead us down a false unfulfilling path. Claim the next few years for “no-makeup-sweats-are-comfie days” of nuzzling, baby kisses, everything else can wait…and focus on the humans God has blessed you to nurture. I love you & pray for you!
I love that you and SB enjoy the Veronica Speedwell series! (even though I couldn't get into them, ha). If I lived near a Costco I'd be tempted to do the same thing with clothing.
It sounds like you're putting your energy and focus where it needs to go, and I wish you the best with it all. (And congratulations on the anticipated baby!)

Congratulations on this wonderful reason to take a break from writing--however long it turns out to be. Third babies are a lot of fun too! :)
